oke thanx , i will look into the trolls as you call them i think i will buy a smaller electro plane to do more intensive training without the psycological factor of wrecking a big scale .
i also have a 50cc pilot yak that is nearly finished with a 3W50i and can , i bought this airframe from a club member for € 200,- so the expensive thoughts while flying on the edge would be less then the other birds i have .
are there some tips or tricks to master trolling ? or is it just practice ?

cheers !

we call your stick configuration Mode 1

I also fly that way... and it actually makes Harrier rolls easier as you can simply set the throttle, bang the ailerons and "Stir Coffee" with the left hand!

lol

Thanks for this Bonedoc, I'm a rolling newbie and couldn't even get started. After reading bits and pieces of this can see some progression. Can even lift the nose when it goes pear shaped, for a bit anyway. All on the sim at the moment. Cheers

Hi Josh, I have just started flying in December and have learned so much from your videos. It is encouraging to hear the rolling harrier is so difficult as like many posting here I lack consistency. Sometimes I get it but not sure how! One thing I wondered is if you have your throttle with a lot of ratchet action and/or friction or just very free and loose like I understand helicopters do?

I like ratchet best, gives me little way points thru out the travel of the gimbal.

I went away from ratcheting years ago because it gets annoying when you're working the throttle up and down so much. Also lets you be more precise with your throttle inputs for other maneuvers like hovering.

Pretty much yes. I have been ratcheting for years. I tried the no ratchet for a few flights. I just couldn't acclimate to not having any idea of where my throttle was/is. Put it back on and left it. For some, it works great. For others, not so much. Diversity.

Well did my first successful real life rolling harrier today BUT after about 10 attempts. My problem is the timing of the first roll to get it "coordinated".
I wondered if you experts waited till the first "canopy up" before checking your timing or you look at the wings immediately as they start to roll.
I would like to get a more reliable method of "dialing in" once I move the ailerons to start rolling.
Also do you recommend I initiate the roll aggressively or slowly?
I am a right roller, and it's only a Parkzone Visonaire, not a Giant sorry.
Thanks guys. Newbie here as only been flying about 3 months.

What is the best way to turn the way the roll is? I'm getting the rolling harrier so I can control direction pretty well besides turning right on a right roll, could someone explain the physics on if it is the P factor or touque of the engine ?
