Mackenzie's New Ride
A very special birthday gift for a girl that loves RC! Read about how MacKenzie Shaw received an awesome giant scale plane from her parents.
Today was a day that was very special to MacKenzie Shaw!
You see, her 10th Birthday was on Wednesday and she is ate up with flying RC planes. With a lot of love and support from her parents, she received a 35% Extra 330 and 11X. Here is how it came to be:
Mackenzie has been flying foamies with her Dad (Greg) for quite some time. She has done great, but she is in love with the big planes that we fly, and she wanted to fly one. Mackenzie thought that today she was going to fly one of our planes in the same manner that we fly at the Youth Masters. Jonathan (my son) was going to hot box Mackenzie and have her fly the plane. She was awesome! After the flight she held the back of the plane so that we could take her picture, and we all yelled "Happy Birthday!" You could not beat the smile off her face! Now we are going to work with her and have her compete at the Youth Masters , and maybe an IMAC meet or two. It was just a great day!

Congrats Mackenzie!
We are very proud to have you as a member of the DBRCA. You did great today and we are all looking forward and excited to watch you grow in the hobby with your new plane. Flying a model like your new Extra is a big responsibility and I can't think of any other RC pilot out there that I would rather share the flight line with than you. Happy birthday! Foamie |
