Why not just run 2S A123/LiFe if your servos are good for 5 cell Nimh operation, one less piece of "stuff" to fail

I forgot to say that I need a BEC that can output 7.4v as my servos are HV. Anyone have any recommendation.

Thanks

Why then do you need a regulator?

I would like to put a Bec in so my servos will be at a constant 7.4 volts and not reduce in performance as the lipos voltage decreases .

Regulators are typically step down and not step up. That means, when the voltage drops below 7.4v, typical regulators will just behave as a pass thru with no regulation.

Above 7.4v, unregulated will be faster and has more torque than regulated. So, there is a single point in the voltage curve when the regulator output will match the battery voltage. But, for most, it will be equal to batt output or worse but not better.
