Thanks Kendal. I guess I will have to return the favor and let you fly my plane now!! That will happen one day.

From the sounds of it you may see your plane flying all over the place too.

I saw a post that AeroWorks has sold out of the first shipment already and a second shipment is on the way.

Looks like your right Karl! A friend sent this to me today, looks like he got one of the first kits. Pretty amazing little mini me in there too. Really awesome to see how great of a job AeroWorks has done with all this. I'm so impressed with all the detail and how scale it is.

Does that affect the strength any or was it just there to get the shape during the build up?

It does affect the strength but not as much as you would think. This wing using the ladder spar system relies heavily on the inter plane strut. That strut basically eliminates the torsion twist of the wing. Just as the struts on a J3 cub do.

The strongest wing hands down is a foam core balsa sheeted wing in my opinion.

The core in this wing was used to shape the ribs. At the inner part of the wing it also is acting as a drag spar. (which keeps the wing from folding aft from the forward flight pressures) The full scale has the x wire bracing for that. Roger's S2B thread you can see it well.

I did twist the wing before and after the cuts and was surprised that it didn't really change that much.

The lift loads are carried in those aluminum spars.

One more thing the aluminum leading edge D tube skins really stiffened the wing. That was amazing to feel after I put them on.

Hey Jon,
For the wings I am using the 92988A530 Stainless Steel. One column over. I have 2" wing tubes but they will be fine in 1.5" tubes for sure.

I also have a few pacs of small 92988A650's I want to use perhaps in the Aileron Slave struts for that quick assembly thing I want. Those need made yet too..

Every time I put these wings on I smile!!

thanks for the info. do you think the stainless ones are going to make that much of a difference over the zinc plated ones?

I am too lazy to look back. Are you using a bolt also on the root or just the snap tabs. I love the idea just not sure how it will hold up but hoping it will be no problem.
