nore the linkage nor the hinges are tight. everything is just fine. just when i apply pressure the center position ****s slightly but with the big horns its sufficient to make the plane rol

Re: New hitec 7950TH

I had to take my 7950's off of my elevators on my 3.0 comparf extra,, after I got them back from hitec, I put the signal boosters on there , twisted extensions everyhting,,, they still had intermident glitches,, so I took them off and put good ole 5955 servos back on the elevators they are great,,,, I put the 7950's in the swb rudder tray and plugged them straight into the powersafe receiver and they work good,, but it just sucks you can't put the 7950 on extensions,,, and I am running A123's,,

Something 7950 owners should try. Change the speed of your 7950's from 64 to about 20 and see how much smoother they become. I can't tell any difference in how fast they move (they are very fast either way ) but the change made mine much smoother more like the old 5945's or 5950's.

Re: New hitec 7950TH

Time to chime in again. Originally my right elevator glitched but soon settled down after a few flights. Many flights later I had to remove the right elevator for some maintenance. When I plugged it back in it started glitching again. I ignored it and flew the plane only this time it effected my plane in flight.

Flying the 2010 Advanced sequence I entered the 8-point roll rolling right, the right elevator glitched in flight driving my nose toward the ground. It got my attention really fast and I aborted said maneuver. I had several more glitches to test out if it was really a glitch and while people were observing, doing the loop the servo glitched and the loop had a big 'V' on the downline.

I went home and tried to figure out if it was the servo or my wiring. I took off the left side elevator and put it on the right side and it didn't glitch. I took the right elevator and put it on the left side wiring and it DID glitch. I then decided to swap the glitcher with one of my rudder servos and all is fine again.

Of note, I can make it glitch by lightly pushing on the elevator. If I push hard it doesn't glitch. That's why I decided to put the glitcher into a ganged environment on the rudder. It works just fine even if I lightly push the rudder.

Basically I'm having the same issue as FreeRider from Moscow.

Now for the bad news. I'm using JR on 72mhz (JR 10x/955rx's).

I'm on the waiting list for a Aurora 9 so it will be interesting to see if that servo works properly after I get it.

I have 2 7950's in tandem on my 3 meter CARF 260 ailerons and have been the best yet. First 8611s, then 8711s, now 7950s. JRs only lasted about 200 flights. 7950s have great centering and power for me and I fly IMAC exclusively with this plane. I use li-ions regulated to 6 volts through smart fly power expander.

the only thing that i thought of is, it doesn't specify if it only applies to using jr servo's or just don't use them in general.

Yeah that's the one I've been thinking about with all this discussion of a signal booster, but I wonder if there's something about a Y-harness vs. just the single lead signal booster that you can get and has been suggested in this thread as a temporary cure? Or maybe it just has to do with the fact that you could put too much load on a single servo lead with two big servos running on it?????

my concern would be if the line booster is capable of handling the current. don't know how the booster is designed whether it just taps main power for the booster circuit or if the main power flows through the booster. it seems it is just designed for some low power accesories. maybe some one has talked to horizon about the specs on this thing because i don't see any on the website.

So far so good, in my Rig - 15 flights... The Boosters seemed to have solved the problem...

A decent alternative to the booster is a 20G twisted wire that you can get from www.servocity.com.

MPI's 20 awg didn't solve it for me. It wasn't until I added the Spektrum booster at the rx to the MPI twisted 36" extensions that the twitching stopped. My 18" twisted extensions on the ailerons are working fine with no boosters along with the two servos that aren't on any extensions.

Re: New hitec 7950TH

I am going to put two of these on ele using A123s and jr 922 so I just did some tests. No conciliation for the guys having problems or maybe there is.

jr 922 powersafe rec.

7940 hitec servos, same as 7950 except for gears I believe.

240" + 26"extensions, yes that is right 240". Made from "22g" wire but I cant tell the difference between it and 20g wire sold by hitec. It is the same size as that on servo.

A123 batts no glitching on two servos each connected for 40 mins each with periodic playing trying to replicate symptoms described in this thread.

Out of curiosity, 2S 5400mah 40C lipo with voltage of 8.1V. Two servos connected for 15mins each with periodic playing trying to replicate symptoms described in this thread.

All smooth and rock solid. I just placed the order for the two 7950s.
