Just wanted to let everyone know that has the DX18QQ edition, there are no replacement cases. I damaged mine. The case did it's job in protecting the contents, but a pretty minor "tumble" and that black finish really got scraped up bad. Anyway, called HH support to BUY a replacement and they don't have, or plan to have them. Since they were a "special edition" they didn't produce extras to be sold as replacements. I guess it's time to start adding the stickers

Just like a new car...now it's "broke in" no longer have to be so gentle as now you have a "battle scar" to start conversation with

Maybe they did it on purpose so someone wouldnt buy the case and stick their junky old regular dx18 in there and try to pawn it off as a QQ

CZorzella, Well I have had my QQ-18 for about two weeks now. I don't know if they are in order but my # is 1167. I still see HH is selling them as well as Chief Aircraft and ibcinyou rc has them also. Don't know who else might be selling them.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get your dogtag back from Spektrum support? That is all I have to wait for. This QQ is a real nice radio though. I have my 3D birds programmed now I got to do my LA-7. I was so use to my 11-X programming. Seems like alot of the channels plug into different ports on the receiver. Just something to get use to. Another Question. If you use the expander receiver and use a battery pack to power it instead of the jumper do you need to install another on-off for this receiver or does the whole system shut down with the included soft switch? You see I will be using the expander for choke, control yoke movement in my TMMY 35%Cessna and for nosewheel steering and possibly ignition cutoff on my IBEF. Really haven't decided as of yet if the ignition cutoff is a good idea. Reason is there is no way you can program in a failsafe in the expander receiver module. Thanks, Steve Mullis |

Guilty, kind of. I loved the look of the orange stick ends so ordered up a set from HH. Apparently they're smarter than me and made sure the sizes are not compatible!!! They'll fit pretty much every newer Spektrum TX except the regular 18...

Funny, I was in the opposite situation: just got a QQ, and couldn't stand the orange sticks! I swapped them out for the optional black anodized sticks from my old DX8. So the guy that bought my old DX8 got some orange sticks!

Well there are AirWare updates posted on the SpecktrumRC community website for both the standard DX18 as well as the DX18QQ (they are different, don't confuse the two radios).
Both updates will completely erase all your model settings, so you need to export anything you want to keep before the update, then import them back afterward. I'm supposed to be signed up for e-mail notifications but didn't see any notice on either radio and I own both even though the updates were released on April 8, 2013.... |

I did the same exact thing. I really wanted the longer and Orange stick ends to compliment the Orange in Spektrum. I learned the hard way. the QQ gimbals are 3mm and the DX18 gimbals are 4mm. I will now have to use the Red anodized JR stick ends....bummer.
