Ben,
How much time is on your Brillelli 66? I've got one that's 5years old, is on the stock piston ring, but has been thru 2 sets of main bearings... I dont know of anyone still selling parts for these, but i believe Frank Bowman makes a ring for the Brillellis too....

if you didn't have to compress the ring something is wrong.sounds like the ring is just starting to stick.your going to need to clean out the groove in the piston with your old ring after you break it in half.then order a ring from FB.
this is probably your idle problem.

Mine maybe has 9 gallons through it. I have the linked to get a new cylinder somewhere but I probably just need to deglaze what I have and get a FB ring.
