The story on the color difference is,, the next time I took the plane out, Lake Casitas, I had a Radio lock out,, she went in full throttle into the lake,, Broke the Fuse in half, But as you can see was repairable,, The all silver scheme was just a little hard to see against a overcast sky,, so I went with a more colorful scheme after the rebild.

I'll try and get some new video this spring ;-)

Sure a quick little bugger. Or is that the video speed a bit off?

A very good question and I have no answer for you, maybe someone else on this thread can chime in. The float length is governed by the length of the fuse----take 75-80% and that is the length of the float. eg: a 100" fuse would need a 75" float. If the 1/3 scale fuse is actually accurate then the 100cc c cub would be too long and the 50cc c cub would be too short for the 1/3 cub. Most 1/3 scale cubs usually come in around 62-64" of float length depending on the actual fuse length.

Got a question for you float experts. I finally got to glass my foam floats this past weekend. I used Z-Poxy mix with a little added alcohol to thin it. I glassed one float, then went right to the next float. While brushing the Z-poxy on the second float, it started drying pretty fast. So, since I was already well into laying it down, I did my best to get it all over the float as fast as I could. I'm concerned that the epoxy mix didn't stick well enough and soak the cloth. I did however check them this morning and it seems to have stuck good on all the edges, I just wasn't able to get all the extra epoxy off the float before it dried to much. Should I be concerned ? You can see the difference in the two floats in this pic, one has extra epoxy, one doesn't. I hope it will just take some extra sanding and be ok.

Yeap, it looks like you'll be doing extra sanding, but you should be OK,,

typical procedure is to lay down the fist coat thin to stick the glass to the part, then second coat fills the weave,, that one float looks like both coats have been applied partially. Just lay down the #2 coat sparingly and get ready to sand.

Sometimes when you do thin the epoxy it will make it "go off" quicker,, Those are pretty big,, I probably would have done one at a time.

good luck
