Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
what? where? for the directory? I'm not keeping up. sorry.
as for the other.... I heard they were "falling out of the sky". maybe a bad batch? considering the cost, that "get what ya pay for" thing went through my head |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
None are falling out of the sky, or die while in the sky. No bearing or other similar problems have been reported, if so, they would have been plastered all over this thread.
If you feel like tinkering with it you should have no problems what so ever with this engine. If you have the dieing on landing engine this can be corrected with some 600 wet/dry on the SPS or a few extra gallons of gas. The tilt die problem is of no importance because if you tilt your plane while landing enough to kill the engine you have already killed your plane. |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
FAT chance, there are too many naysayers listiening to uninformed "experts"....
Like I said before "I AM NOT A FACTORY DEALER...I HAVE NO INTENTION OF COMPETING WITH ANY AUTHORIZED DEALER..I BOUGHT 30 DLE ENGINES TO SELL TO MY CUSTOMERS ON MY WEBSITE...I TOLD THEM AT THE TIME I WOULD BUY BACK ANY ENGINE THEY DID NOT WANT...I BOUGHT SOME BACK..ALL THE ENGINES I BOUGHT BACK WERE RE SOLD TO OTHER CUSTOMERS...NONE OF THOSE ARE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS AND I WILL STILL BUY BACK ANY DLE 30 I SOLD FOR THE FULL PRICE THEY PAID TO ME...I HAVE OTHER CUSTOMERS WAITING FOR THESE...END OF STORY.... THE DLE 30 IS THE STRONGEST 30CC ENGINE CURRENTLY SOLD, WITH THE POSSIBLE EXCEPTION OF THE 3W 28..AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE IS ONLY ONE PERSON ON THIS FORUM COMPLETELY QUALIFIED TO PASS JUDGEMENT ON ANY 30cc CLASS ENGINE...TIRED OLD MAN IS THAT PERSON BY VIRTUE OF HIS SKILL AND EMPLOYMENT....IF SOME OF YOU JUST DON'T GET IT, TOUGH THE CAPS LOCK IS INTENTIONAL.... SHEESH, like talking to a brick wall.. |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
RC Ign,
Jody is pretty darn good. In some ways more experienced than myself since he deals only with the hobby side, and has to do so with "affordable" equipment. He has a 28 for a little "back room" comparison work. You have a pretty good edge on me as well. Things I have to think about and run the numbers on you solve instantly through your many years of operational, experimental, and racing experience. I appreciate the "flowers" but I think there are a few out there with a whole lot of talent and knowledge that easily equal or exceed mine. The DLE 30 is a good engine with a lot of power. The 28 has some nuances few would ever notice because they are too busy playing the rpm game to effectively use their engines. For the weight and the money the DLE is a hands down winner. For the long term it's not quite there yet but few will be able to appreciate that. They will dumb thumb their engines into the ground before longevity would ever be an issue. As for the tilt and dieing thing, anyone that has some idiotic need to physically hold a running plane and flip it around by the wings has a screw or twenty loose. Something I've never seen glow flyers do in decades of this hobby. Perhaps small gas engines has bred some new mutant R/C species that has found new challenges to overcome.... |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
There are many others with lots of experience...No one with the hours of DOCUMENTED flying time and visual observation....
Sorry if I left the others out.. When I get another DLE 30 here next week I will make a jig to check on the position of the cylinder bore relative to the bolt hole pattern in the cylinder and crankcase, and see how well the con rod is centered...Could be an easy fix for the SPS |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
Dunno, The 30 and a 222 cleared customs, should be here by Monday...I can/will take it apart and see what if anything is different...
Hey Al, we can compare numbers... The 222 will be interesting, I just got a cell phone with camera, if I can figure out how to put pictures from it on here I will...the crankcase joint should be interesting...Gonna strip it down to check crank alignment and other stuff... Then fly it in the 3.3 Yak to compare to our Aerrow 200 twin with the same props... |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
Hey Guy's , Here is my RC Guys Super Decathlon with a DL 30 mounted up front, I have about 5 tanks through it and I have been very impressed with what I have seen so far. Very strong engine and it pulls this bird around the sky very well.Plane balanced perfect with no added weight.
