I have been using a slimlinepitts muffler. But I have had the exhuast stack crack on both of them. But I will say the flange as not given be any problem on the slimelines.

Yes, it polishes the surface and seals it, there is no dust residue left when finished. Don't take my word for it, try some testing of your own and see what you come up with.

Hello Kevin, I used a spindle sander, this makes the job very easy to do, all I did was tape the shucks to the wing and ailerons, used a 1.5" dia. hole saw and punched a hole in each bay. The shucks hold the the surfaces 90 degrees to the spindle so you get a true cutout, then I use 80 grit sand paper to clean up the holes.

Yeah thats all I need a pipe to make it faster than it is now. Ask Bob how fast he was flying it yesterday. I ordered a j tec pitts muffler and going to add a extra mount to the firewall to help keep it from flexing and also going to a bigger prop to slow it down and get a little more pull.

Hey Greg, you might give DA a call just in case that motor doesn't have all the updates. I know it was some time ago that Bob got it. There replacing the piston and cylinder on them and it might get rid of some of that vibration. Cant hurt to just call and give them your serial number..........

All I can say Bob is WOW! 23 lbs 8 oz is absolutely amazing!

With the amont of progress Bob has made I think it's time to give everyone a little info on the Aerotech Kit side of life. Our goal is to have the kit ready and waiting for production pending Bob's go-ahead after flight testing the prototype.

Bob and I have been working hard on getting the prototype into AutoCAD. As of the end of the day yesterday we're ready to laser cut a "sample fuse kit". The only thing holding us back right this minute is delivery of the 3/32" basswood ply. We have construction drawings for the fuselage about 75% complete and working on how we are going to handle the foam....for some reason FedEx has an issue with shipping the wing cores.....

A couple notable things that will be different from Bob's prototype:

1) All motor box components, F2's, and lower shear webs are tabbed. This should make building a square motor box and attachment of the truss sides a little more straight forward for those of us who don't have "Sensei Like" building skills .

2) Kits will be available in three versions to accept different motor options. Versions are based on the dimensions of the DA/3W 170, DA 200, and 3W 210. These three versions should accomodate all other engine options in that weight range. If not, we can make adjustments on a custom order basis.

I'll be jumping on here and providing updates periodically as we continue to make progress on this awsome project.
