Help me finish Smart Fly Set Up

I am putting this in a 35 CC Sbach and not sure what to get to complete it.

Batts 2500 MAH Life (2)

Smart Fly Power Expander Sport Plus with Optical Kill

Spektrum AR8000 Receiver.

Questions:

1 What should I use for a switch, thinking one of two ways

Pin switch with light ? Do I need one for each battery or can I put one in on the power expander. if its on the expander with the batteries slowly drain

or

Miracle Double Switch between battery and expander

or
????

Thanks for the help

You can use the Pin and Flag switch. It is a failsafe switch. It plugs directly into the Smart Fly. When the Pin is pulled, all electronics are activated including your ignition. However ignition is not "Hot" until your tx. switch is set to "on" ignition. Since the SF is power redundant, you only need one switch. Typically your ignition cut off will have an LED for the ignition.

I use only SF in all my planes. I plug my batteries in when I am assembling my plane for the days flying. Unplug them when I break down for the day. Batteries will not lose any noticeable voltage while plugged into the board.

I strongly recommend the Failsafe switch, either the Pin&Flag or slider switch. This way you do not have voltage drops across the connector between a mechanical switch and the battery and across the switch contacts, both of which can be significant. This would significantly lower the voltage entering the PowerExpander. Also, you should try to get batteries with 2 leads to plug into both battery inputs on both sides (4 total). You can either get batteries with two standard leads or get a battery with a Deans Ultraplug and make an adapter with two standard male connectors (Futaba or JR). Let me know if you have any other questions.
