DA100 3 Blade Prop

Just wondering if anybody had any recommendations for a 3 blade prop for a DA100 with stock mufflers on a 35% Carden CAP 232.

I was thinking a Biela 25x10 or 26x12
or 25x12 Mejlizk.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: DA100 3 Blade Prop

What is the weight of the plane? If it is like other Carden Caps I have seen, it is probably on the heavy side. I have a heavy 35% Extra that does very well with a 24x12x3....

Hello,

Acording to the Zinger website you should drop the diameter 1 or 2 inches and keep the pitch. The best guess will be starting from the benchmark prop from the manufacturer specs. In the DA 100 the prop range goes from 28x10, 27x10 and 26x12 if you convert using the Zinger site it will give you 26x10, 25x10, 24x12.

Don't waste the money.
You wont be happy with the performance, stick with a 2 blade.

Are you using the plane for sport flying, 3-D or IMAC?

Re: DA100 3 Blade Prop

I am mainly using it for sport flying and IMAC. No real serious 3D, no low hovering etc, and I will change the prop back to the 27x10 if I want to 3D.

Thanks

Re: DA100 3 Blade Prop

if you want good performance and need to keep it quite get the mejzlik 27/10 or 27/10th. cheaper also. there is a beila 3 blade at my field and it's ok but he is lacking pull.

Isn't almost those numbers the same as this ones recommended by the engine manufacturer DESERT AIRCRAFT??

The 3 blade to keep it quieter and help with your sound scores for IMAC. And the 27x10 for 3D.

Re: DA100 3 Blade Prop

I use a Biela 26 x 10 3-blade on my DA 100 MTW cans powered 35% AW Yak.. The prop pulls great due to a change in blade design a couple of years back. I know Biela changed the blade because after I bought a new prop (after an "altercation" with the runway) my spinner cone would'nt fix! Tru-Turn had to redo the spinner cone for it to fit the new blade shape/width.

The can/prop combo is so quiet it's hard to hear when another plane is in the air. And, I received 10's for sound scores most of the time!

Good luck.

If sound is the main concern, any of the 3 bladers mentioned will do you well.
