Mithrandir DA has them. Just ordered 2 set's for a couple Twins a while back. Give them a call I believe Chief Aircraft also has the stepped couplers you are looking for. Can't help much on setting them up for a 3W 170 though.

CARF 3M Extra 260

Gday Dave and guys. Just finished adding some louver vents for the pro flows

Now I can place the engine back in, forward equipment tray and will hopefully start the plane / dial in the smoke this weekend If all goes to plan, I'll be FINALLY airborne next weekend for its maiden. 'Im really looking forward to how they sound & perform as this will be my freestyle airframe.

CARF 3M extra 260, DA170, MTW knuckle headers, Pro Flo rear exits and extentions, EQ6 turbo, Powerbox smoke, 9157's all round, no limitz spinner/pilot and B&E Graphix - 14mz.

Fingers crossed

Ive posted a couple of pics of the progress and Im pretty happy with my 1st CARF build. Oh and thanks to Mith for making that vid on cutting the cable exits too - your a lifesaver!!

cheers gents and FG!

Damian

Hi Damian, Nice clean work. I noticed the wide spread between the Canisters, That makes it easy to use the SC Mounts. I have used lots of the MTW headers and they place the 2 canisters very close together and that makes it very dificult to use those mounts even when staggered. Keep up the Great work and best of luck on the Maiden

OK, just started my 3w-200 for the first time on Pro Flows. All I can say is the sound is amazing. Too cold to mess outside for long but power and transition seems better. I have actually run this engine on MTW and PEFA canisters, neither can touch the sound of the Pro Flows!!!!!

Great Job Dave.

Dave if you would like I will try and get some Video for you since I couldn't find any videos of the 3W-200 on your cans?

I haven't had a chance yet to do any rpm readings or even set the needles. It had rained here all day and I got a 10 minute window of dry and couldn't wait anymore. I will try for more extensive testing this weekend.

It is a 3w-200 twin with twin spark and had been run on MTW 110s; but I feel like they were to restrictive for a 200 class engine. The engine didn't seem to reach full potential with the MTWs

Thanks Dave,

For my last 2 airframes Ive used the MTW knuckle headers (that you adjust and silver solder) and cant speak highly enough about them. So easy to get your drops and all your angle just perfect. The Cans sit up fairly high too, and I didnt have to remove any timber from the landing gear mount. In my other CARF that "had" the cross over flex headers, it too places the pipes very close to each other and around 1cm had to be shaved from the gear mount to allow the fit. Not any more though

Super 8, unfortunately the link for that vid is on my wifes IPAD (shes away at the moment). If you do a search on flying cirkus's web site, I'm pretty sure it's tucked away somewhere..

RTK, Im hoping they draw out the heat. Its being touching 95 degrees (F) here lately which is great beer drinking weather at least I grabbed some alloy louver vents sheets from the hardware store, dremelled them down considerably and painted them to suit.

Thanks!
