Engine problems
Thanks for the kind words Don. For what its worth, most of the time when I take a look at these engines I find a fuel problem of some sort. That is not to say this is the only thing, timming and the ignition module itself are at times an issue. I was working on a 3W 102 that was doing the same thing but found the key on the prop hub had sheared & therefore had changed the timming. Its is just a process of elimitation, simple things first. If you have a problem thats bugging you, send me an email, make sure you put " engine problem " in the heading. My email is rebelrods@aol.com. Smooth Flights & Happy Landings

Thanks for helping with that. Looks like I will be getting the Cub back down and messing with the gap and timming AGAIN. I never went as far as .040 on the gap. With all the good things I hear about the DLE 30, it will be nice to see this engine performe as well as other people are claiming.

Maybe some day they will learn to listen, but I doubt it.
I am running all of my DLEs on Life battery packs now,two diodes in the + lead between Ignition and off-on switch.Or If I build a new ignition I build it for 6.6 tp 7.6 volts.Aganist my better judgement I am runnings some of the DLEs off the radio Life pack. I no, I no what have I preached for 30 years.I have 7 DLEs now all run fine.I havent even checked some of them for SPS. BC. Youll never no how little I realy care. |
