Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!

Plane came in two boxes and both were double boxed. One all the wings and mid wing section, other one was the fuse/canopy/tail and such.

There was a small box that had a great quality plane cover! Dudes, I paid $100 for my 100cc plane cover, this was awesome gesture! It said Quique Bonus! I hope they include this in the next shipments as well! What a treat and way to protect the plane from hot days!

Also there was a poster of Quique but the poster was all wrinkled up for me as you can see in the pic.

Of course when there is a box or new plane, my son gets in the way, right away! He always claims it to!

I checked everything and everything was undamaged! You should see the color scheme of balck/gold/red in person! It's really nice! I really like it! This would be my first plane that actually has a scale scheme as my Python was QQ scheme.

Hey Kevin,

Good to have you here! You know the thing is mine will finish a lot sooner than yours and my DA-120 will pull my plane 4 times stronger than your 10,000cc on the Beast lol Just kidding!

Great to have you here.

Looking forward to following the build.

BTW, those going to EAA Airventure this week, stop by and see the Full Scale Beast at the IAC Aerobatic Center. We will be there with it and several other model 12's.

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!

Hey Matt,

It would be very nice if you could you share the DA100 RE2 performance and also modifying the mounts on the plane to accommodate the RE2 once we get to engine part of the thread. That would be very helpful for those who will have a setup like yours buddy! Also please dont hesitate letting us know if you did anything different! This is for everyone and only reason I took over the task is to channel down all the threads and experiences into one to help build a complete info base on the Beast!

Thanks a million in advance!

I'm running the same servos, 8911's, the spektrum 6010 digital (4721's aren't available anymore), using the new Spektrum 12 channel high power receiver with Thunder power 2600mah lipo's.

I'm using an old DA100 and will probably go to a set of RE2's.

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!

Everything is hinged except for half elevator so you can glue it to the fuse! Rudder comes hinged but the piano wire/rod that mates the hinges needs to be inserted.

I am going to do the landing gear and get it out of the way. It seems to be a 15-20 minute job seems the wheel pants are also ready to install! All you need to do in this step is bolting things and blue locktite.

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!

I used the measurement provided in the manual to center the wheel. It was pretty close for me!
File a small flat spot on the axle for set screw!
Picture shows the tools I used #10 wrench, crescent wrench, 1.5 mm ball driver and 3/32" ball driver, Blue thread locker!
