That is awesome! It's going to be really light. I wouldn't be surprised if you hit 25-26lbs.

Still trying to decide on a color scheme so I can order the rest of my covering. I found a scheme on an extra that I kinda like. I've always liked the CompARF Edge in either Green or Red. Anyone ever use the Ultracote lime green: http://www.advantagehobby.com/23333/HANU888/

On the web it looks kinda crappy, wondering if it matches this fairly close:

First picture looks sharp! Funtana x50 colors? Yellow blue and silver would look awesome!

OK, call this sort of a confirmation of my experiment......I never printed a set of plans for this plane to lay on the building table, so laying out the fuse sides and beginning construction as all just based on the laser cut parts. I installed the wing tubes today and they are dead smack on parallel the level kept bouncing between 0 and .1 degrees from level from each other. The main tube was exactly level with the building table, so I gave the tail tube about two passes with some sandpaper and glued it in.

Now I'm curious, I was going to do my next plane with balsa built-up sides because of the slight weight disadvantage noted on the plywood sides......but, the ease of building has me leaning towards this construction. We'll see what I decide to do on the next one.

The boss informed me that there will be no airplane work tonight, so I guess that's it for today!

I got that memo also

As for the ply construction...I am all for anything that makes it a little easier. From the looks of it your design takes out a lot of the things that scare the potential new builder away. Incidence should be near perfect without having to drill any holes and the tabbed construction keeps the fuse straight. You definitely have something there

Unfortunately an incidence meter will still need to be used when gluing the root rib on......unless I were to measure the root of the wing to confirm finished size, then laser the root rib about 1/64" or so larger (still sand to final shape). Perhaps this would make it so it could be larger but yet easy enough to get within a hair of perfect. I see another test coming on......

I bet you could figure something out. I wouldn't expect the incidence to be perfect but the closer it is to begin with the easier it is.
