Well I'm ending the poll and there is a pretty clear winner. CHECKMATE is the new name for my airplane! Watching the poll was a rather interesting process. Checkmate took the lead early on with the first couple votes and never fell behind. Congrats to Cindy Monohan who was the first person to suggest the name on my Facebook page. To honor all the input from Flying Giants I'm also going to award a ride to CHUCK who also suggested the same name a day later on here. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't see the original Facebook post. Chuck I sent you a PM with my email to get in contact with me to work out the details. Thanks again to everyone for all your great ideas. It really was a tough decision.

wish i would have saw this sooner. maybe for your next one you can call it" walk the flank" flank is aka the wing on a chess board. i thought it was kind of a funny pirate/ chess / wing walker fit.

I had an Ultimate back in the 90's that I named CHECKMATE in place of Blue Hawk. I designed a nice Vargas girl on a checkerboard nose art piece for the cowl - she was my CHECKMATE.
