Ok here is a pic of it ready to go with out the graphics. You don't get to see those before Nall.
Flight report from the maiden and three other flights from today. Maiden took one trim step up on elevator and one step to the left on aileron. Talking about drawing some pretty strait true lines. Now the maiden was a trim and mix flight and only needed a very small amount of up elevator and top aileron mixed in for perfect knife edge flight. Still need to mix in a little down for strait down true down lines but it is very slight and do not think it will be much at all. Now the question everyone was wondering. Will it 3D?? I am happy to report that it will in fact 3D very well. Harriers are very solid with no rock and very light on the wing. Kinda like a kite in the way it sinks. The only real difference in this airframe from the 119 is the wing design as far as tip cord and aileron size. With the smaller ailerons the rolls remind me of flying my old Aeroworks Edge in that you do have to keep a little more speed up to keep the roll going. That is about it. Every other surface acts like the 119 in the face that the elevators and rudder are very effective. All in all this is going to be a great IMAC or 3D platform with very gentle behavior. I haven't weighed the plane yet but best guess dry with the 3W150 on the nose is 36lbs. So imagine 36lb plane with the wing area very close to the 126 Slick. Very light. Well that's it for now. See everybody at the Nall this weekend. |

Why do you think they designed in smaller ailerons? |

Well Andrew would be the one to ask about that but I would think since this airframe is geared toward IMAC then that is why the ailerons are smaller. You don't need barn doors for IMAC and it probably helps clean the snaps up also.

I would say the same.
smaller ail for cleaner snaps and less drag in the rolls. lets make it clear though that it does not mean it has smaller ail then other models out there. the 119 has ail's that are huge. like crazy huge. The lX will do all you want it to do. its like saying the H2 hummer is smaller then the H1 hummer.. hehe |

i am bringing this one back out of the grave!!
question for you all this airplane question on set up for strict IMAC 1. does it come with stabs without counterbalance? 2. if one uses JR servos: MP 82T (563 ou/in at 7.4 volts)= could i go with 2 aileron servos, 2 rudder servos, and 1 servo per stab??? 3. considering: da 170 with MTW re3 pipes |
