Hi Bam.
Brian tells me that the pins add a lot of strength to the joints. What I've done is drill down into each glued joint about 3/8 to 1/2". (or so) with a bit that is just slightly larger than 1/8". I then coat the pin with medium CA and shove it in the hole. Let it dry, and sand flush. This gives you, in addition to a flat glue on glue attachment, a solid glued in pin to assist in holding the joint together. There probably is a better way to explain this, but I hope you get the picture. It seems like a great idea to me. It adds hardly any weight, is easy and quick to do and costs nearly nothing.

Sorry Phil, i should have been more clear, i know what pinning is and have done it lots of times, i was asking why you felt the need to pin the trailing edges? It's not a typical point the balsa would come unstuck and is not under alot of pressure. plus it would also have to rip the covering to come loose.
But i dont have one of these yet and you must have seen something to make you feel uneasy?

Mine isnt pinned like that . I talked to my builder this morning about it , Since i crashed it yesterday . And he built mine with thin CA and a little med CA (the whole plane). These are tough birds . I only broke and aileron where the control horn goes through it and bent the gear . When the fuselage flexed it popped the covering in a few places but nothing else seems busted .

Guess what im trying to say is the pinning of the trailing edge seems like overkill to me .

P-huck and Colton have had their way with mine and it held up great .

Hi Bam.
Nah, nothing looks to be a problem. We just mainly did it to do it I believe.
Brian is a real perfectionist, and has built this airframe straight as an arrow and super strong. He never misses an opportunity to add strength when and where he can.

I bought me a new sim and had been practicing rolling circles . When i crash those planes a new one pops up and i go again . Well new ones don`t pop up when you crash in the real world . Needless to say i need to practice more .

You will have to bring that 50cc to Huck-O-Ween in late Oct . I would love to have a bunch of WrongWays planes in the air at the same time .

Lol.. Ok, we'll see about Huck-o-ween. I've heard great things about it.
Yep, rollers deal me fits. Every time I watch Stephan roll left and right 5 feet off the runway, I want to smack him. RC is completely effortless for he and Colton. I, on the other hand am talentless.

+1 on the talentless! Lucky Colton is in the us, cause I would sneak up while his sleeping and steal his left nut (mojo!) so I could have it!
