I am 100% in on scale. My driveway space is limited and 50cc - 60cc is all I can do w/o buying a trailer. Plenty of storage, just not much driveway so I've recently decided to keep my aerobat fleet static and push into scale warbirds/civie type builds. In that vein I have just purchased a TF Stinson kit. Will be starting it soon. Usually I post in the rcgroups balsa builders forum...but will cross post the build here.

Planning to cover in fabric and paint (a first for me).

Great thread!! Obviously most all of the warbirds out there have been in production for many years before 3D even was thought of. It's nice to see bigger, more powerful, and reliable engines to come out but now the airframes need to follow suit. There's so much that needs to be done to redesign these birds to bring them up to date. It's nice to see ESM's an a couple of other's selections but what's the chances of a company actually coming out with more birds in the 100cc size??

Would be really awesome to replicate an affordable fleet of 100cc Reno style racers. When I say "affordable" I mean, I'd like to get a Sea Fury that's a little less than the $5,000 Airworld frame only and that's before the $5,000 moki with another $2,000 in stuff.... Lol. Obviously, an awesome combo, and ya get what you pay for but there's got to be something in the future......

hey Brave, take a look at austars-models here in Australia. this is a link to some large scale models for upto 120cc that could be done up as reno racers. there is even a 96" reno mustang on the first page. good prices as well and Im sure that Steve would send O.S.

Brave, that link doesnt take you straight to the page I wanted it to, so when you hit the link, click on giant scale planes on the left of screen at the top of the list.

Well I have to say that these planes look nice, and I really like the sizes. Looks like they are linked to:
http://www.cymodel.com/Cn/pro.asp?cid=6
and:
http://www.easytigermodels.com/

I've seen these guys around before but havn't any experience with them. Anyone have any experience ordering from these guys? Do they carry parts? Are they quality and do they build well, fly well? Not sure I would use their retracts.

Just talked to Easytiger. Said that the container should be in with the new planes sometime towards mid to late March. Will only offer cowls and canopy's as far as replacements. The fuse's are fiberglass and the wings are to be painted solortex. Prices just under $1k. Said that they actually fly the models and perfect them prior to making the order from the plant. Hope all's true and the service is at least average. Would like to find a good reliable company to go with.

Also, made mention of p-38 Lightening that would accept two 55's!! Too early to get excited but that would be one awesome plane!!

Just a hint.....do a search on RCU on EasyTiger company. Personally I wouldn't buy one, too much drama and questions on availability. Now some of his planes do look cool and folks have had success and failures like any other plane.

Yes, I've heard. Have a friend that ordered a plane early last year an just now received it because he got a little angry. He almost forgot about it. Said to make sure to call to verify that the bird is n stock before placing the order.

But, back to the topic....... Anyone know of anything new in the warbird dept????????
TBM says that there coming out with a small P-38, and a 100cc Corsair middle of the year.....
