Or.... Glue a small plywood square on the inside, I did that and problem solved after I lost one of the vents!!

I just put a dab of medium CA on the screws before screwing them in and they haven't come off yet after a year and a half and 40-50 flights.

The 200 on mufflers is a bit on the loud side but it does sound good. I may move the other flight battery back as well. I think it could still be more nuetral for me. Going get back to trimming my Dalton some more. Going to have to something on that due to having 8oz of lead tied to the tail wheel bracket. But it's 200 sounds good too.

I've got almost a pound of lead about halfway between the cowl and the tail in my CARF Extra 330.... haven't had it off the ground yet, but it shoudl be pretty well balanced with that... hated to glue that much dead weight in a plane just to balance the 200.

Just move further aft and the amount of weight will be reduced due to the arm.

Yep. This was about as far back as I could reach and still have access to the weight if I ever need to move or change it.

Heck, if you need that kind of weight for balance, you might as well use solid steel rods on the aft surface hinges. They'll never wear and you'll put less weight further out on the moment arm.

If you remove the rudder you can get some access.

I considered filling the stab tube with lead... still might do it if the weight I have doesn't balance where I need it.

I've done that on some other planes. Works well.

A friend of mine used bullets in the stab tube. That way he could fine tune the balance by adding or removing as needed. Did you mount the rudder servos in the tail or use a pull pull setup?

I am wondering if I will be able to balance mine without adding weight to the tail. I am running a DLE222 on mufflers. I bought a nice self adjusting SWB rudder tray and I am hoping if I install it just behind former at the back of the hatch area it will work. I hate to cut holes in the back to tail mount the rudder servos after buying the tray.

Yes but the feel of a direct drive rudder is sooooo much better than a pull pull. Plus the Sukhoi has a load of carbon fiber reinforcing back there so flex is non-existent.
