But seriously. All this talk and hype. We have seen it on quite a few "Upcoming release" engine threads recently.
I am sure that when DA feel it is the right time to release the new product to the rc market, they will do so. Until then, we can only speculate if they are copies of the 3W 35/70 or the DLE 35/70, or the MLD 35/70 or the MT 35/70 or whatever came first. (as the chicken and the egg laid back in bed and lit a smoke then said "I guess that answers that question finally")

Does it really matter if or when these engines are released and if they look similar to other brands? Fanboys will buy them and love them no matter what, Some others will follow the hype, some won't. Some would like to think hopefully all will have perfect experiences with them but a few won't no matter how good they are.

Well I am sick of waiting for the DA-35, all summer waiting... I went ahead and ordered an DLE 35.

for the low cost of a dle and acceptable performance it provides, waiting on a da and losing precious flying time because of a brand name or loyalty was a daft decision to start with. but there you have it with some folk.

It was not a brand name loyalty issue BRBR. No need to be arrogant at all. I have an DLE-55 which is awesome, and no other DA at the moment. My previous DA was an 85 and even after the updates it was a shakey pig. I was just looking forward to seeing what DA had to put on the table, and apparently at this point it isn't anything at all other than a couple of prototypes floating around.

Wow something honest about the 85 Haha glad I wasn't the only one completely disappointed with the 85 even after the update... Believe me AWESOME power but it does no good if it destroys an airframe in the process!

the reason your not seeing a DA70 or the 35 is DA is testing the water to see if there is enough interest in both engines before they start production.

I could see a good market for Da 35 cause a lot of guys like those size planes. Not really sure about the market for the 70. Yeah its a twin and that's cool but I was just wondering how many planes you will be able to fit it in without butchering up the cowl. My Da 60 does the job for me. I would be interested in one if it gave a lot more power than my 60 but I don't think that it would.

I highly doubt that !
For what is involved developing a product I can't see DA testing the waters with functional prototypes

I'd bet the waters were tested many seasons ago...
