3D: what's that?

ok: so a 3D is a plane that can do helicopter things. that is, almost everything...except flying backwards. but still i don't know where the term comes from.
i agree that some names don't make sense, and this could be 1 of them, but still would be interesting to learn where it comes from.
which is where all of this started.

and then, how about 4D?
i think it is sort of planes that do 3D and can fly backwards, right? with a reverse pitch prop.

Hmm, perhaps put on your 3D glasses and try flying.

The basic definition of 3D flight is: A maneuver that is performed at or below stall speed, ie. hover, upright flat spin, inverted flat spin, knife edge spin, elevator, hammer head, blaine-o-draino and many more. Planes can fly backwards, although most of the time it's not sustainable flight, but are flying backwards in a tail slide and with the right head wind can move backwards also. JMO

It's hard to explain and alot of typing...I type like two words a minute LOL. So I was going to copy and paste the description of the maneuver from his website, but the content has been removed.

The pugoid flyers and stall masters do 3d ,an airplane has several gravities moving.thru it in many manouvers , Its pretty much a complicated vehicl in a 3 dimesional discription anyway. A car now that a 2dimensional vehicl till airborne and.tumbling.but even then its still a 2d plane of travel.

"3D" is a type of safe flying frequently characterized as unsafe by those who don't (or can't ) know any better
