Build Thread - Barth 1/3 Waco / Valach 250cc

So I kinda got the bug a couple months ago to build another big Bipe!!

Looked around and have never done a big Waco and Dr Gotz at Vogelsang had a Barth kit in stock. Lots of good reviews about these Barth kits so I decided to give one a try.

I’ll be posting a mix of photos and videos on this build thread.

Should be fun! Looking forward to starting this coming weekend!

Scheme undecided at the moment.. mulling around a few ideas!

Hey guys!! Excited to see some will be following!!

Last night was a little slow getting started and getting familiarized with the parts and numbering and instructions.

A couple pictures of the fuse base and fuse sides together.

I’m using Lepage’s Express Glue. Fast drying, dries clear, sands very clean, and great consistency. Been using it for a number of years. Available at Home Depot but I’ve heard only in Canada. Not sure if US Home Depots have it?

Anyways.. should see lots of progress tonight!!!

Sub'd. Been watching your builds for years, looking forward to this one. Any idea who ended up with the Ford schemed Pitts?

Thanks. I’ve been focused on jets for a number of years but got the bug really bad this summer to do a wood kit again. A little rusty but super pumped to progress this Barth Waco!

The 58% EMHW Ford Pitts is with Bill in Chicago. Bill has quite a collection of the EMHW bipes so it’s in good company!!
