same here! no sealants needed with the psp fittings (caps or nipples)
Never had a problem with one coming loose or leaking.

If using this set-up for glow, remember, you CANNOT use tygon!!!! must use silicon!

The guys are correct, about a quarter or third turn past just stopped on the cap or fittings nuts. The Viton o-rings will do their job with no seal goop needed.

Ha, Ha, NO....I was just wondering that when I open the bottle , the seal is "broken" and didn't want it possibly vibrating loose, and end up with a fuselage full of that darn glow fuel, like I am still trying to get out, I have a Seagull Models Yak 54, 90 size, and the glow fuel turned "their" supposedly ca glue to what seems like silicone caulk..

thanks for the replys,

Doug

You should be sweet without seal all, did it that way before PSP fittings came along with no probs.
However, the standard cap can and will fatigue and should be inspected regulary! Just get a PSP cap and forget about it!

I am with you but I just received my 3DHS 87" Extra wich comes with what I believe is a 20 oz tank. Anyway it weighs only 1 ounce more than a Fiji but much stronger for strapping in. How much more do the Dubro or Sullivan's weigh?

Agreed, but another item I appreciate is our ability to see through and see if a clunk is attached.
With a stock tank we never could tell if the clunk was attached without shaking it around to listen, or removing the tank.

And I like not having a rubber stopper smushed against a plastic ring as a seal.

10mm Viton rubber sheet cut out with a gasket hole punch and drilled to match the tube holes. Problem solved for life.
Alternatively 1/8 ID threaded nipples bought on Ebay (get a bag of 20 for a few bucks) or buy from 3W which they use for their tanks. Its not rocket science.

1.5 Liter Fiji Tank with PSP Fittings - 2.8 ounces
Dubro 50 Ounce Tank - 6.6 Ounces
Bennett Built 64 Ounce Tank - 8.4 Ounces
Sullivan 50 Ounce Tank - ???

Yes, you are correct. This is another valuable feature of using a water bottle.

Did you use the Black or Brown stopper ?
Looks like your stopper has perished from non compatability to fluid (gas/petrol)

Yup.
Pulled one, earlier in the year, that looked exactly the same.

I hadn't seen this thread at the time, and went with Fourtitude tanks in my gassers.
If the full kits are available, next time I'm looking, I might give these a shot
(I am quite lazy when it comes to things like this, I'm afraid)

I really like the clear tanks.

Also, fiji water bottles don't split in the corners like I've seen on the milky white hard plastic tanks.
