I saw the CompARF 100c version of this airplane and the green scheme made me want it on the spot. Glad to see an alternative exists and doesnt cost both your arms and half your leg like the CompArf's are

The fuel dot/pin switch panel is from Secraft and the pin switch itself is from Smart fly.

Well it depends on the size tank. If it is a 2 oz. fuel tank then I'll say that is on the heavy side if its a 100 oz fuel tank the I'll say that is a very light plane . Assuming is a 20oz tank the probably the dry weight is around 16.8 lbs

And that is with 2, 2100 LiFe's into a Smart fly. It balanced in the middle of the recommended range with those 2 Life's just aft of the spar.

I didn't see anywhere on here about the rest of your servo selection, but sometimes my ADD gets the best of me. Did you use the same hitec 5985mg's on all the surfaces? how'd it work out and whats your recomendations?
Also, how is the knife edge coupling?

Thanks,
Greg

I used the 5985s because I already had them. I would recommend that you use a nice programable digital servo like the HS-7965MG or similar.

Knife edge is great and rudder is very effective. The airplane is pretty neutral with only minor adjustments for KE or Inverted flight.

Re: Red Aero RC - 50cc MX2 "Gary Ward Scheme" Build.

BTW, I was at an airshow (full scale) Saturday and saw an MX2 flown by Rob Holland (12K hours in F-16, Extras, MX2, etc). It/he was very impressive, doing double hammerheads, harriers, and tail slides, and totally sick roll rates into beautiful KE's about 5 feet off the deck. It looked like it was just slightly less than thrust positive, like .98 thrust to weight ratio. My wife said, ok, it has 2 seats, how much does one cost, and I told her about $350K, and she now feels better about the RC version. I took this pic of the spinner to cowl clearance of an Extra 300:
