BoneDoc's 3D Clinic #22: The Pop Top
Hi guys,
Welcome to another 3D Clinic with Josh "BoneDoc" and my lovely wife, Inn. In this session, I want to talk about the maneuver called the "Pop Top". I learned this one from Charles Harris, so much thanks to him. This is a great maneuver to add to and 3D flyer's arsenal of maneuvers. Why? It's relatively easy to learn, and it has a great "wow" factor. It's a real crowd pleaser. The maneuver is in short, the blender done with the plane on the upline after gathering plenty of speed. Please make sure that your airframe can withstand this, as this is a very punishing maneuver on your airframe (I'm happy to say, that all 3DHS airframe is certified Pop Top worthy ). Without further delay, here's the video on the Pop Top. For those of you with fast connection, turn on the 1080P HD. It's awesome. Thanks for watching again, Josh "BoneDoc" Young Much thanks as always to -My lovely wife Inn -3D Hobby Shop -Hitec -Castle Creations -Neu Motors -ADC Vinyl .. I love you Josie & Gracie

About time someone did a vid on that maneuver...good job! We have been doing them for years around here but we sometimes call them the "Charlie Harris" instead We judge them by how many rotations of spin... now...some of us just transitions into infinite flat spins...
Now, when you guys get good at the upright pop top...try doing it inverted!!! Really spectacular... Kyle W. is one of the masters of the pop tops... even the very hard to do "pop sideways" for a lack of a better description... amazing what we learned from him. |
