McCoy 30

Anyone ever heard of this engine??? Was looking in the barn and found it. It has NEVER been run and has a red top. It is a old engine that is all I know. Probably will never run a drop of fuel through it though.

McCoy Redhead. The head looks painted and not anodized, right? I suspect it does not have a throttle, just a venturi? I think they were popular control-line engines back in the 60s. If you have one that has never been run, it is probably a collectors item and may be worth more than when it was new.

I think they made a few with RC carbs, but I am not sure. Later, there were some "Testors McCoys" I believe, unique in that they had cooling fins on the crankcase. Never were very popular.

I have one of these engines. I had it on a control line plane about 47 years ago. It was a great running engine, very powerful. Don't know if they're worth anything but I enjoyed mine.

I have a couple of these engines. Both are the CL model with no throttle. One is mounted on an old CL acrobatic model. I have run it a few times. Very strong engine.

Re: McCoy 30

thanks for the info. I have several other older engines in the barn also. I need to clean them up really well. The Mccoy though has never been run so I will probably never run it. I also found OLD Futaba radios in the brown case lol. Plus I have OLD pure white servos and light brown servos. Will try to get the names numbers etc of them next time I am out in the barn.
