Re: Trailer E track
Bill I run my E-track horizontal. The second photo shows how I attach tools and a spare tire.

the inside of my trailer, the sides have what appears to me to be particle wood. It is not plywood. what technique would you all recommend for fixing the track?
pilot hole then screw in, or use self tapping screws and what type of screw and size? on my last trailer, it seemed that the screws i used would lose purchase on the sides due to this type of wood. what is you alls experience with using the Etrack and stabilizing it to the trailer sides? |

I think if I had particle wood I would get a box of #8 x 1/2" wood screws and drill a small pilot hole in ever other screw hole. By inserting a bunch of screws they will distribute the load and hold better. Better yet put one in every screw hole.
Good luck |

There are actually vertical and horizontal styles of E-track... Vertical has the rectangular holes aligned with shorter sides next to each other, so that you have a hole about every 4 inches vertically to connect a device. Horizontal E-Track has holes aligned with the longer sides touching each other, giving you the ability to attach a connector about every 3 inches along a horizontal line. You could use either type of track in either orientation, but that's not how they were designed.
