Ground School.............Please!!!!!!!

I'm starting to get the hang of basic maneuvers. I can hover nose in, figure 8's, backward flight, etc. without much fuss, but I have no idea on how to practice/perform 3D moves, I do not know the stick inputs. The flight school on Flying Giants was an invaluable tool for me with the planes, an absolute must have. I still use them today (I'm a slow learner ) It would be AWSOME to have some ground school vids here on Heli Giants..............Pretty Please!!!

C'mon

Re: Ground School.............Please!!!!!!!

we will be doing some sorts of gound school. There are some very talented pilots here on HG staff that will help you out whenever they can. I can help with rebuilding because I've been crashing a lot lately

nothing is better than simply stick time on both the sim and in real life.

If someone can send me a video camera, or if I can figure out how to upload my sim vid's I will make how to video's on it. I also might need a program that can input my voice too.

You're right, but, a heads up on stick movements for 3d maneuvers would be a great help. I do not have anyone to learn from (small town), so this heli adventure is strictly a solo mission for me.

I learned a thing or three from this. He talks you through the menuvers and there is a little picture in picture of stick inputs in real time. Very nicely done.

Groundschool, helistyle! In progress guys! One last big event of the year for the airplane side of things, then it's full on! Thanks for all your support, we're in the process of winding this thing up!

Shawn

All the how-to videos are available with stick moves that you can slow-down or speed up inside G3 sim. Go to virtual instructions and look at heli section.

I suggest you do fundamental workout before doing 3d moves.
This was the suggetion by local JR pilot.

Do fig 8 in four ways
Do snake fig 8 in 2 ways
Do piro fig 8 in two ways
Do piro snake fig 8

Make piro snake fig 8 smaller and smaller and you will get piro flip!!

AFPD is the tits for planes, but reflex xtr is the hotness for heli's. Dead on physics.

I know, but this whole heli thing caught me by suprise. Here's my story. I was wanting something to fly in the school field that is spitting from my house. I just wasn't getting to the airfield enough to fly my plane (kids, wife, work) and the r/c itch was getting really bad. I was going to get a little fliton electric plane, but, one day I walked into my lhs and saw this tiny heli sitting there, it said rtf, so I said wtf, and the rest is history. I had some trouble with quality issues at first (blade cp pro), but I seem to have them worked out. Now I can't get this heli bug outa my head, I just love it. I figure if I fly the sim and the micro heli enough to get somewhat "good", I can justify purchasing a raptor next spring.

As far as running AFPD, I have found a t-rex download on rcsim.de that feels so very close to the blade in real life, maybe even more difficult than real.

So, that's it in a nut shell. Just don't yawn to much or you'll swallow your head

Peace, I'm outa here

The electrics really are convenient. I bought a trex even though I prefer nitro power. It's tough to cart a 90 in the back seat for those quickie flights.
