I have a question about my DA-100. It has less than one gallon of Lawn Boy through it so far.

The engine starts on one or two flips, idles great, has an immediate transition from idle to full throttle, and full throttle reads a little over 6000 RPM at sea level with the engine relatively cool (run about two minutes). I am using a wood Menz 27x10 prop and I have baffles top, bottom, and sides.

The issue is that while it idles great, the idle speed increases during the first flight of the day. Before I take off, I set the idle trim so low that the plane will sit still on the runway (it requires a little gas to taxi). By the time I land, it will taxi very fast while at idle, so I have to lower the trim. This only happens on the first flight of the day. On all subsequent flights the idle rpm won't change from the beginning to the end of the flight. The next day I take the plane out, I will have to bump the trim up (because it is so slow it won't idle) at the beginning of the first flight, then slow it back down like above.

Is the low needle too rich?

MAYBE JUST A LITTLE.DOES IT BURBLE AT 1/4 OR 1/3RD THROTTLE?IF SO TURN IT IN JUST A LITTLE AT A TIME TILL ALMOST DOESN'T DO IT ANYMORE

It could be that it may not be broken in yet. My DA 100 idled well, but changed frequently before it was broke in. . .

I had a similar problem that turned out to be my push rod, I was using a Sullivan golden rod for throttle, first run of the day, the temps rise inside the plane, the rod expands, therefore lifts the idle, next day out, because you had lowered the trim, and the rod is now contracted, the idle is to low, you raise it, during the flight the temp goes up and the merry go round starts all over again. I now use the Sullivan premium rod (the black one) and have no more issues.

It has a "burble" from about 1/3 to a little over 1/2 throttle.
