I sent it back to the place I had bought it from for warranty work, the muffler needed replacing and the bearings had worn out. At the time I figured it was a simple fix, and they were real close, it'll be done in no time (and thats pretty much what they told me too). So in preparation for the Sukhoi I sent it in. That was two weeks before I actually got the model. Anyhow, I kept calling them each week to see what the deal was, and there have been a number of excuses (bearing availability, snow, its a Monday), and they kept taking my number in order to call me and let me know what was going on. They never do call however, and I keep having to call them. I spoke to them yesterday (again) and I was once again promised it would be mailed out. I've heard tons of great things about this particular place, but I can't help but feel that with them its not what you know its who you know.

The irony of it is, if I'd have just ordered some bearings and tossed the muffler I would have had it finished in a week. I hate to keep bugging them about it, but honestly its been long enough. So its back on the phone with them today to see if it was sent out or not, if not its off to their store to take it myself - finished or not.
Give'em Hell. An hour away I'd make a personal appearance at this point.

For me the SU-26 is about the ONLY plane that looks right without pants ! Not the 29, not the 31. The 26 !

Well I had a perfectly good flying day ruined when my engine spit out the spark plug. Now the threads are stripped and I get to reluctantly test MT's warranty service. Should have bought a DA.

Ryan, the problem with your motor sounds like my DL. It did the same on me. If they used a ganeric plug they screw up the threads. Also use some type of thread anti-sieze on the plug. One more thing I did to mine. I put a heli-coil in mine. I had my motor well broke-in and didn't want to break it in again. When you put a Heli-coil in you will be amazed at how tight you can tighten that plug! If they won't cover you on it. Send me the head and I'll put a coil in it for you. Just pay the postage. You've worked to hard on this bird to let her sit! Good luck!

The bird won't be sitting long. I'll be sending the engine in for service, but have not yet decided what to do with it after I get it back. Thanks for the offer, I'll see what MT says about the warranty work.

Ryan, just in case they replace your cylinder, here is the problem inherent in Chinese engines. They drill and tap the plug hole for the CM-6 spark plug. Then they install a Chinese copy of the CM-6 plug which has under-size threads. If you throw that plug away before you run the engine and replace it with a NGK plug you usually will never have a problem. If you run the engine with the Chinese plug it stretches the threads and either spits the plug out or gets loose after stretching the threads. Then when you try and put the NGK plug in it strips out. Best bet is to toss the Chinese crap plug the minute the engine arrives and thread in an NGK.

The engine came with an NGK plug so that's what I used. Not sure what could have caused this to happen but either way, the engine will be going in for repair. The Sukhoi was looking very eager to fly today, too!

Ryan, great video. Looks like a sweet flying 50cc plane....would be killer in a 150-170cc size!!! Glad you didn't lose the plug while 'fishing'. Nice flying.

That doesn't bode very well for MT. The NGK has a major diameter on its thread of .389", the Chinese plug .377". Not a good match.

We keep pushing Ken on this one!

Sorry about the issue Ryan. Come on over to my house and finish up the loose ends and you can fly mine.

I think my 50cc Edge was getting jealous and sabotaged my Sukhoi.
