WOW! New Release! Aeroworks 50cc Checkmate ARF-QB
Man what a week!
Last week I was hard pressed to find a LE article. This week they are falling from the sky's like rain drops, and they just keep getting better and better! Today I got an exclusive new release from Aeroworks! The BRAND NEW 50cc Checkmate ARF-QB. I never usually do this.. but I am putting myself in line to beg for a Review model of this bad boy!!! Whoooo Doggie! Let's see what Aeroworks has to say about the new plane! After 2 years in the making the new Aeroworks 50cc Checkmate is nearing completion! Aeroworks has worked close- ly with Kendal Simpson, the owner of the full scale Checkmate, to produce a unique scale biplane capturing the amaz- ing lines and incredible performance of this iconic air show performer. The 50cc Checkmate features a 71” wingspan and weighs 16-17 pounds, this low weight allows the airplane to perform incredibly well and will make it one of the most impressive scale aerobatic airplanes available today. The cowling has been sized to fit a 50cc gas engine with ease allowing for minimal cutting for cooling. A custom rear exit muffler was developed by JTEC R/C to allow the scale cowling and air scoop to be undisturbed. The removable top canopy/hatch allows for easy access to the radio compartment and the removable bottom wing allows for even more access. Here is what Kendal has to say about the new 50cc Checkmate ARF-QB: Quote:
We will have the new 50cc Checkmate in our booth at the Toledo Expo in a couple of weeks so if you are in the area please stop by to take a look at this and a few more exciting new airplanes! http://www.aero-works.net |

It looks like for the sake of scale it has micro rons, They should include a connector so the end user can ditch the top ron servo's and shave some 8 oz or so. Or I guess maybe you could use a digital mini. Nice looking though, for a scale plane.. he he he

Love it! I've always like the round cowl Pitts planes; this looks very nice. Would love to see some more detail on the muffler setup; wonder if it's quieter or better for performance than a standard pitts muffler or a canister.....

Reported as: "weighs 16-17 pounds"
While I very much like AW planes and have owned three they need to get it right on the estimated weight. Don't say 16-17 pounds unless it can really be built stock at that weight. And I am struggling to see those numbers as realistic. |
