RCG 20cc Gas engine w/ CD-Ignition 2.2HP/1.64kw
I understand the allergy to cheep Chinese stuff on this site but has any body seen this?
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=15381 I have had a few HobbyKing engines. FLT 52cc, RCG 30cc. There not DA quality but they do pull my planes around with authority. I have yet to have a problem but I do know I really don't want to deal with a Chinese version of customer support. For now at least with me the verdict is still out on HobbyKing. |

When did they list that product . I bought the Turnigy 26cc for my dad because it was
the only rear carb I could find at the time . The DL 30 at that stage was only in a side induction version . RCG 30 and now 20 looks nice from the outside but their original engines were just a bit c r a p . Those red head engines just fell apart but with DLE pulling the pin on Hobbyiking it would be nice to have a viable alternative to the original suplier . Stu |

I got one of these RCG 20cc engines from Hobby King a few weeks ago and all I can say is what an awesome engine so far. I have only run a couple of tanks on the bench but it is running great. Right out of the box with only slight adjustments to the needles on a Turnigy 17x6 wood prop I can get just under 2000 rpm idle and 7900 rpm WOT. The top end is still a little rich and I'm leaving it there for a couple of more tanks. On the scale it was just over 14lbs thrust. HK lists it as RCG20cc on the box it says ET20cc. It looks exactly like the RCGF20cc. It also says "made by RCGF Model" right on the box. A few of my fellow flyers are also going to get this engine and we are going to race H9 60 size warbirds with this engine in them.

What's the reason for people running gas engines rich? They are not glow engines guys, lean it out and, check your plug after 10 minutes of running time. The plug should not have any wetness and, a brown/ash color on the sparkplug electrode. Running it rich is just fouling the plug.

Got the RCGF-20 or ET-20 from RCGF as well. The engine runs excellent. I will implement it in HK's Piper Grasshopper L4. Mine just had 1 gal of gas on the test stand.
Have improved the carb a little : http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Part_034.html Juergen |

I cant believe it was that long ago I posted about this engine, I now have 2 of them. The first one is still running great and I am just setting the 2nd one up in another plane. My flying buddies that have them are also still running strong. I would not hesitate to get another.
