Re: CRRC PRO GF45I any good?
hey there to all....
just a quick update on my GF45. since i fitted my own design muffler i havent had any problems with vibration cracking the muffler. so it seems that i have cured this problem for good. i think i have posted these pix before lol but just to again show you all what ive done....the photos pretty much speak for themselves. the small black hose you see going into the muffler is for the smoke system. if anyone wants to know more info...just ask!!1 cheers craig |

Hey Hardtop351 I love your muffler system. Did you chop up an existing one to make this one??/ Or did you build from scratch.
How about details on the parts to construct it like aluminum tubing size etc. I always new that space under the engine box was good for something! Trike |

i made this from scratch!!!....my work place uses A LOT of aluminium both in sheet and extrusions....i build camper trailers. basically i hunted around in the shop for suitable size material and then got the brain matter working and came up with what you see. the main tube size is 2 inch I.D. and the in and out tubing is 1 inch O.D. the 2 exhaust tubes pass all the way through the main muffler pipe. these have 3/8 holes drilled at right angles inside the muffler to allow gas to pass through. the main muffler pipe is hollow inside. the muffler "in" pipe is angled in a way to create a circular swirling motion. this helps the smoke system in breaking up the fluid even more. hope this helps cheers craig |

How do I apply for one of the test engines?. I have a big pawnee that would suit it perfectly. I would love to evaluate one as a tow plane engine,
(oh yeah, my 45 is performing perfectly so far........ gunna have to do a craig on the muffler though) |

lol wiz you a funny guy!!!!!
it has since flown without any dramas. about the only thing i didnt do first when i fitted it all up was to loctite the mounting bolts and to smear a little 30min epoxy on the mounting plates. but ive since dont that and she flies great............pity the entire canopy came off and hit the left elevator in flight........its a BIG canopy too cheers craig |

Re: CRRC PRO GF45I any good?
well ive done all repairs to my airfame and took it out for a fly. god it nice to fly!!. my engine started 4th flick after priming it.....got a little to heavy with the prime and now i have 2 bruised fingers to prove it!!
our local heavy model inspector commented about my muffler system and how well it works. he is impressed and passed it without question. this engine seems to be loosening up and compression is really good. still turns a 20x8 bolly solid carbon prop at 7800-7900rpm still running alcohol fuel and synthetic oil at 40:1......no mess under aircraft. i can now say that i am happy with this engine and the way it runs. cheers craig |

as far as i know Lion Electronics in West Oz are the importers of this engine. but word is that an east coast supplier is not too far away.
i have direct contact with the factory and have been in talks with them about an east coast supplier. stay tuned....... cheers craig |
