uh oh

Today on my new edge I got the elevators and rudder all hooked up. All was going well until I tightened down the bolts on the horns on the rudder. I did not over tighten it or anything just firm, but the composite crushed. The end sort of cracked off and now the outer hole is more or less a 3/4 circle. I put some extra washers on it and CA'd the horn a bit. Is this ok, or do I need a better fix. If I just get a new horn, how the he** do I get the old one out?

Go to the inner hole if you want max throw, I did, otherwise maybe laminate a thin piece of carbonfiber to the horn. Carbon always works!

Best way to remove it is to cut it off as close to the surface of the elevator as you can then use a dremel to route out the rest.

Now that the snow is here, mine will probably take a month or three to see the air. I am looking forward to it.

That's how hard man do, what can I say.

Man its fun to have my first moving parts on the edge! I'm slackening off the building and more just flopping the stick back and forth watching shiny things go up and down

Maiden Complete!

Finally, the snow cleared enough for a maiden flight. Managed three flights before going home.

WHAT A 3D MONSTER. This is my third 50cc 3D dedicated airframe, the first from Extreme Flight for me. I'm hooked, can't say enough good things about the build quality and amazing 3D flight performance. Ultra-crazy-super-stable harrier flight, upright or inverted. It just won't bite! What a machine!

The DLE55 has never run so well, thanks to the addition of a Pro-Flow 3D Can exhaust system. More power over my old pitts muffler, and far better overall throttle response. The Pro-Flow is worth EVERY penny. Thanks for the recommendation fellas!

Can't wait to get more flights on this bad-boy.

What are y'all getting for weight? I just weighed mine on a person scale so it was accurate but probable not perfect. So I weighed myself then picked up the plane and weighed me and the plane because the scale won't pick up just the plane.

Here's what I got: (three trials for consistency)
Me: 108.2lbs (yes this is true, I'm one skinny kid )
Me and the edge: 124.9, 128.4, and 126.5 lbs
So the plane came in at 16.7 lbs, 20.2 lbs, and 18.3 lbs if that makes sense
So average is like 18.4 or so pounds. Given this is not exaqctly the weight, but its something. This seem good? I'm happy with it. I'm thinking the weight is coming from my canister, but I mean its a pro flow so its good weight

18 pounds is about right for their 88" planes. My 88" Yak is 17.8 pounds dry. My 88" Extra was 17.5 pounds. They fly very light as they are big planes.
