Come one, come all ....to our inaugural IMAC event at our new "world class" flying facility in Ft. Worth, TX on Oct. 20 & 21.
We have finally moved in to our new field and all is grand. 450ft concrete runway and adjacent grass strip, taxi ways, covered pit area, starting benches, chain link protected flight boxes, large concrete parking lot. We're now at the south end of Benbrook Lake at Mustang Park (see location map on our web site). Loads of room for spectators and portable shelters/awnings, if our shelter/awning isn't large enough. Beautiful scenery and wild life. We love it and hope you will too. We'll be posting local hotels/motels at a later date and camping is allowed however, there are no hook-ups. Please check our web site and club calendar for updates http://www.fwthunderbirds.org/Club-Calendar.php http://www.fwthunderbirds.org/index.php Contest director is Chris Berardi -agilefalcon@charter.net Or you can contact me at - rowdyjoes@att.net Hope to see you all there. Here's the flyer for the contest. Be sure to sign up early.
Camping is available via Corps of Engineers park management (pay at the gate). Currently, the price is $14 per night. Garry Last edited by Rowdyjoe; 05-27-2012 at 06:08 PM. |

Wow ! What a great weekend. The contest went well, no planes lost, and every one had a great time. The competition was tight and the flying was great. We had some of the best pilots in IMAC at our event and they put on a fantastic display of aerobatic excellence.
The flying was terrific and the fellowship was great. You couldn't ask for a better bunch of people to share your favorite hobby with. Of course, the best flying took place in the pits between rounds. Every one flys a perfect score when "hangar flying". I'm really looking forward to next season and hoping I'll be able to travel to more contests. Come join the fun at Ft. Worth Thunderbird field at our next contest. Watch these pages. RJ |
