profiles are one of the easiest planes there is to build,if you just work on it two hours a night,you could have it done in two weeks.there is nothing hard to do about it. |

Greetings All.
Well, Brian came over for a few hours tonight, and we got a bit more done.... Pics 1,2, and 3. Cutting hole in wing for switches. hole is backed by 1/8" ply. The 2 LiFe 1100's and switches are going to be in the left wing. Pic 4. Installing hard rails for servo. Pic 5 & 6. Results of a hail storm we had tonight. Pics 1 and 2. Wonderful dinner made by my sweet wife. We had salad with strawberries and nuts. Main course was pecan Tilapia and baked califlower with cheese sauce. Yum!. Pic 3. A few more...
Pic 1. The batteries sitting on their removable tray. Pic 2. The tray itself. Pic 3. These are 1/2" hardwood dowels glued into balsa. The 2 horizontal ones on left are to hold the fuel tank. We're going to drill 1/4" holes through the center of the dowels, and run zip-ties around the tank, and under the fuse where u see the edge of the 1/8" ply and through the dowels. The ply and the dowels will prevent the zip-ties from cutting through the soft balsa. The dowel you see on the right (Lower) which has a drilled hole just above it, will be for the ignition. Brian left me a list of things to do over the next week, including extensive "finish sanding" and replicating the servo hard rail system you see in pic 4 on post #310 on the right wing...

To keep the boss happy, we're down to only being able to work on it about one day per week. Sooo, One can imagine how long it's going to take to finish it now. This is probably my first and last kit build.. |
