For those not familiar with the area...right up the road from the site of the Huckfest is a lil hole in the wall BBQ joint...Wildhorse. Do yourself a favor and check it out at least once while there. It is truly world class BBQ.

Yeap Wild Horse IS AWESOME!!!! it looks like a hole in the wall but you go in and see pictures of like every country music star in history eating there. hehehe Its good thats for sure!

I have flown in to Salisaw a bunch of times...shooting touch and gos. Last time I was there there was a G5 on the tarmac...the owner wanted some Wildhorse... It IS that good. =)

Just curious in asking this...but with this being an uncontrolled airport...how do you all shut it down temporarily? Not a big deal, just curious how this works. I would imagine the FAA and inclusion of NoTAM would be involved...

Hats off to you guys putting this together...my brief search on whats involved in this process is making me cringe.

I will have a generator with me. Nice a quite and runs almost all day on a tank of fuel. So guys looking for power can find me and hook on. I leave the gen in the bed of the truck but there is always enough places to plug in..

NTAM= Notice to airmen. Its a bulletin posted for local pilots letting them know the airport is closed. However in an emergency the runway will need to be cleared. Its hard to explain to the powers that be but we need about 30 seconds to clear the runway or airspace.

Night flying? Back in the early days Throwdown #1 we rented a trailer with lights on it. The kind you see construction crews use at night. Works great and pretty cheap. Foamy Mayhem for sure..

ok Just got confirmed one of the things I was working on.

Saterday afternoon, Wild Horse BBQ will be onsite and WITH your landing fee you will have a meal pass. This pass is good for ONE plate that consists of Shreaded beef with a bun as a sandwich or on the side, potato salad, cold slaw, backed beans, pickles and peppers, and a Drink. If you choose to have a extra plate for a family member or friend they can be purchased for 10 dollars.

OK, here it is I live in West Tawakoni TX. I have a 10' enclosed trailer and will have room for one guys big bird and maybe a couple smaller birds and all the helos you have. You need some help getting your junk there let me know.. I will have my 35% Yak some E stuff and 5-6 helos. The rest is open.
