Fromeco Ions Non Reg

Anyone running the Fromeco Ions non regulated? I am wanting to maybe do this to gain the max out of my servos. I have the batteries on regulators now which regulate it to 6.3 which is the max. I am running Hitec 7950s though, so I need to test it out before I fully switch it over. I need to order new switches since I am going from Deans plug into the regulator and out Futaba to the RX.

Just curious. I might be switching to A123s later for a 40% or go lipo.

hmm looks like I am going to find me some new switches then to make this happen. I have deans coming off the battery. Would like to have a dean going in and futaba lead coming out of the switch, then I would be set!

I would go that route, but I have two regulator switches already cut out for the plane. Gotta see what covering I cut. If it isn't too bad I will just patch the hole on the one side. I do like those switches though! I am guessing I would get the 2 deans in and 1 jr out

YES YES YES !!! not even a question, with 7950's run a wolverine and uregulated lipo's or ion's. With 7950's why would you run anything else but unregulated ?

Problem , The only Hitec servos 7950's that don't like high voltage on long leads. Such as elevators and out board wings. They are nervous jitter jump . Its craze bad. Even thought they were sold as HV. I have the 7980th, 7954sh and its no problem. Had to soulder in caps on my long leads to help with my 7950's. Do a search here on FG for more details. If It was me I'd just stay on regs. You run your batts down way way quicker at high voltage . RUTNBUC.

Just put some in my Carden Edge with HV JR servos unregulated. Seem to be working just fine.

What I would do is get regulators that regulate them to 7v. This way you will always experience the same "feel" of the plane. If you go totally unregulated, then won't the plane feel different every time as the battery voltage drops?

From what I understand Li-ons stay close to the same "feel" as they drop in mah, where Lipos you can "feel" the difference, thus why a lot of folks go li-ons.

I had a special ghost inform me about this and flying IMAC it would make a BIG difference on how the plane will fly. So I think I have a change in plans! lol

I have the Fromeco Reg but I think these only go up to 6.3 tops.
