My 11 is all 2048, so why on earth would Spektrum go backwards to 1024............ Hell, I remember when 1024 PCM evolved!!! Damn, I'm getting old!

You gotta admit this is cool.
.
Spektrum Data Interface

Staying up to date with the latest version of Spektrum AirWare is easy with the Spektrum Data Interface (SDI). Just download updates to a standard SD card and upload them to your transmitter via the SDI. You can also use the SDI to upload setups for specific models from the Spektrum Community site, share setups with other DX18 owners or store extra model memory. An SD card is included so you can start taking advantage of this handy feature right

the SD feature is nice. I have to send my 12X to Horizon for upgrades. Not a big deal for me, since i can send it in while im offshore and its back home before i am. May be very convenient for others though. Not sure if its convenient enough to overlook 512 resolution on 8 channels and only 10 native channels, and the extra 8 being supplied with power by a servo plug.

yes i did. the dx8,9505,11X and 12x are all 2048. thats why i think it would be a big step backwards to go back to 1024.

I am sure that the 10 Base Channels are 2048... That is the new Benchmark! I don't care about the other 8. They are for Lame Azz War-Bird crap and other on/off applications. I have the Programming down in my X9303H for Planks & Heli's... But, It would be nice to have system that was a little more Intuitive and not so much "Reverse Polish Notation"

resolution is hype..........your resolution is limited by the resolution of servo's components anyway so youre likely at 1024 either way.
