I have purchased some of Dave Scott's books on flying. They are a great read. I really want to attend the actual school. With my airplane. Sounds like an awesome time.

But i am in colorado... :-\

I don't know of anyone around here that's worth a darn, But like others have said My friend Billy Hempel is a excellent pilot as well as his dad in Tucson AZ. They have a super nice field at TRRC. where we use to fly as well.. Hope this helps

thatd be soo awesome... my next spring break

With Bone Doc videos and a good simulator, can't imagine needing much else. Once you get a particular manuever locked in on the sim, go out and fly it with your actual model, but a bit higher the first time because the timing will be off a little.

Hello Lo Cal, on my real flight, i am able to do a rolling harrier, but on my real life models, it comes out real ugly. i am thinking, most of that has to do with being nervous / scared.... yep, i said it!!!

orthobird, yes the "pucker factor" can be an issue with your actual airframe; tends to make you over control and be early on the timming in your rolling harriers. Also if you are simulating a 40% plane, but actually flying something smaller it will be much more difficult. The airplane in your avatar is cake to 3d, got one just like it! However its cost may tighten your sphincter in low 3D . . .

It will cost you $100 in fuel , and you have to fly with some good guys ...



And you will hear " LOWER "

I know of a 3D Flying School..Dave "Planebender" Sullivan taught a 3D flying school at our club. Spent two days with 7 interested pilots, he was in our area before heading off to fly at a local charity event. You could always contact Dave and run the idea past him, he may be open to the idea or I may be speaking out of place as I know Dave is a busy man.

But honestly, if I had the time and funds to commit to RC education, I would go straight to the pro's you admire most and inquire for private instruction.

I dont want to speak for anyone or drop names, but I can think of two or three pros right now that would happily spend time at the field for instruction.

ALL of the professional 3D pilots I have ever met are SOOO unbelievably approachable. Do not be shy about it, write a letter to any one of your favorites.
