I have been looking at the FF Yak55 and the Blender. Can you tell me what things you like about each one. I will be flying 3D. Want some thing that is slow so I can also fly it at work in a smaller area.

thanks

Hey Seth, I think I check every day and hope Mike brings something before Xmas so I can give the wife my List,

When is your designs coming available, i know you are holding out on us!
I am also bummed that John Gs Keima is still in limbo. I was hoping to see it available from FF but heard there was an Insaine Foamie deal at one time. COME ON GUYS GET IT TOGETHER.

One more thing, please put a word in for me next time you talk to Mike at FF. The anticipation is killing me !!

Sure thing! Out of the yak55 and the blender, I like the yak better. Maybe its just me, but with every foam biplane I've flown, they all seem to have weird flight characteristics. With the blender,
its a little wierd in knife edge, kinda wants to roll out to the gear. I thought it was a ballance issue,
but everything checked out fine. I guess I just preffer the way a monoplane flies.
One thing about bipes with alot of side area: the hardly take any rudder and elevator input
in a rolling harrier. too much stick movement and they just want to climb or pop into a hover.
dont get me wrong, the blender is TOTALLY fun and is a blast to fly!
as far as the yak, you CAN NOT beat it! i love everything about this foamy. knife edge requires
rudder ONLY. every 3D maneuver that you do with it just feels so easy and smooth.
the yak also rocks for precision indoor flight too!
I LOVE fancyfoam and i cant wait to see what they bring next!

Re: What foamie for winter...

Guys check out the 3DFoamy.com planes. Much stiffer than the Fancy Foam design. I've had a Super Cap, two Pro Giles (one was stolen in my trailer, one was dumb-thumbed to a spectacular end on the 4th of July this year - see my video on Youtube) and I have recently started flying a Pro Katana. All of them fly great on a Hacker A20-20L, and you can use a smaller motor on the 40" designs if you want. The Super Extra is also a 3D beast. For indoors the 35" mini planes are best.

Where is your battery at? More than likely a vertical CG issue. If its below the horizontal fuse, move it above it. Mine has no coupling at all. I can do KE waterfalls with nothing but rudder and throttle.

xtremerc...

Mike always has something in the works....

You can't go wrong with either! But for smaller places than an averaged sized high school gymnasium, I would prefer the Blender. Two wings = more wing area = slower flying airplane.

Just my .02

Thanks for the imput guys. Sounds like I can't go wrong with either. I am leaning toward the blender now. Think it may be better for the small area in the shop.

Keep it around 4.5 oz or under and you will have an awesome flying foamy.
