All three are great. You wont make a bad choice. I have only owned the PAU 300sp but I am sure the other 3 are great. There is a great build thread on the 300sp somewhere. The 300sp is a large plane also. You will not regret any of them though.

I'd say if you want a plane that requires comparably little mixing, and will slow down pretty fast, go with the Yak. if you want a plane that will need a little mixing to fly knife edges, and will have a long glide path on landing, go with one of the others. Like everyone said, they are all nice planes.

Extreme Flight's shop is just a few miles from my house, so maybe I'm a little biased... I would give them a call to see when they expect another shipment in. The fact that all are gone should tell you something about what people think about them!

One word of advise... especially if you plan to fly more 3D... don't get something that you want to fall in love with. This plane will probably find itself "re-kitted", hopefully not very soon, but they almost always do. The 50cc space is very popular, entry costs are not cheap, but you can get a good plane in the air for around $1500, but there's a lot of 50cc splinters scattered around most fields.

Dont overlook the Pilot planes. Proven designs, quality is top notch, and customer service doesn't get any better. And they are always in stock and spare parts are only an e-mail away.

+1. Pilot is top notch as well with great service. Plus for a little extra you can have a one of a kinda scheme put on your plane.

Is that in general for all the Yak's? In watching the video on the PAU, he slowed the 300sp way down and then just land it like a foamy. Pretty impressive. I will take a look at the Pilot's again and try to give EF a call to get an update on when their planes will be back in stock. So what you are saying is that I am going to wreck this plane, so just buy one that I plan on beating up, correct? So, from that statement, which one takes the best beating? Thanks

If you want a tough plane, you can't beat aeroworks. EF did go with aluminum gear on the Yak,
and they are pretty forgiving.

As for slowing down.... yaks have a big, round flat face on the cowl... great for setting uo the motor and all the room you could want in there, but the nose isn't very aerodynamic when compared to something like an Extra. The Extras will glide a lot further before settling down to land. Neither is hard to land, but they are different.

You can't go wrong with a 3DHS, Extreme Flight, Pilot, or PAU product. I'd say a Pilot Extra, the PAU Extra, or the 3DHS Extra would be great power with a DLE 55. The DLE 55 will work great too with the other planes out there, but they are a little heavier so not as much pull out, but you won't be disappointed either way.

Hi Scott

I just live a little north of you in Elwood. I have a few planes you may be interested in looking at. They're PAU Extras and Edges. Got an Extra with a DA-60 an Edge with a DA-50. A couple of 100cc planes. Bring your son over and I'll answer all your Questions. I can fill you in on some flying sites around here.
My planes are not for sale but you can look at setups and even play with some micro helis in my shop.

PM me and let me know if you're interested.
Tom

Not a pretty way to "win" a game, but I'm glad Baltimore is going back home. All that matters in the end is the "W".

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I went with the PAU 300sp with a DA-60. I spoke with Herve and he is getting me what I need. Thanks again and hopefully see you out at an event.
