Question
Extra 330 35%

Opinion wanted:
Who makes the ‘best’ Extra 330 - 35% - 120cc. Pilot, Carf, …etc?? Considering construction, flying, etc…disregarding $cost….which would you get?

Thanks
Richard

Ive flown the pilot 35% 330sc, the EF 104'' extra . I love both, they're awesome but EF is better in many things. Am currently building a CARF 2.6m 330SC, will let you know once i test fly it in a few weeks.

3da....that's a nice airplane...I have no idea what best means when it comes to toy airplanes. I think a lot of us make our choices with the same criteria as cars. you want what pleases the eye.

I agree with FGNewbie. All the top companies aircraft do pretty much the same thing so it's really up to the buyer as to which looks better. The new PAU looks sick.

I have been eyeing the Carf 2.6m 330SC for my selection. What paint scheme are you getting? I like the skydancer. What engine? Very interested in your feedback on it. How does it look (out of the box) for construction etc??? Post some pics as you work on it if you dont mind.

Thanks everyone for the comments.....keep em coming!

Not a 330...but the Extreme Flight 104" Extra 300 is hands down the best 35% airplane you can get IMO. It's hands down my favorite flying 120cc airplane, and probably the strongest wood airplane I've ever seen.

Production one's won't have the "horns" on the cowl though from what I understood. Looking forward to mine getting here even though flying season will be pretty much done here Will give me plenty of time to build in my leisure. I'll be doing DA120 and MKS 777 all around.

I'd say pick whichever one suits your flying style.

Pilot airplanes are more of the low and slow hucking airplanes that lack the extreme precision aspect. If it's down on the deck shenanigans you like, then a Pilot would be for you.

Extreme Flight airplanes are the really super high precision airplanes that track extremely clean, lock into any attitude, and go wherever they're pointed. Seems like they all tend to not do low and slow as well as the Pilots. Very good airplanes for high energy 3D.

PAU I like to think of as the mix between the 2- extremely precise airplanes that huck well as well, and will throw down at all speeds.

CARF and Krill are competition level airplanes, seems like those who I've talked to don't really use them for any hucking, they always use them for IMAC flying.

Xpress...I don't know from where you are getting your info, but the EF has a very thick airfoil making it very stable for low and slow flight. there are several at our field, including my own and I am very familiar with their flight regime.
