I got 4 flights and engine running smooth!
The new plane blues: I had a few things rattle loose. I tried the green locktite, nope the 243 blue it is! Oh well.....the plane is a keeper!
I'll get the small issues fixed and go back and get some good video! This is going to be a super tow plane: and the flaps lands SLOW...Slow

Sweet!
I think it may need a bit more power

My thoughts of this plane its super with several engines, the rudder should be changed as other tow planes, the option for the upper tray for batts, option for the fuel tank to be in the window, increase rudder size if the counter balance is changed like other planes, the main gear should be wider and 1 inch taller!
I have 4.5 pilot wheels on now! I’ll change them to 6-inch air. (Should help smooth up the landings).
I really really like this plane and would be a killer floatplane! Killer flaps and ailerons!

Just my thoughts!

I know I am late to this thread, but ordered a Sky Wolf while at Joe Nall and it should arrive next week. Reading through the manual and looking on line I didn't find a list of things needed to complete the build.

I have a DLE35RA and MKS servos, but wondering about servo extension lengths and other items needed. Does anyone have a list of what's needed other than whats in the kit?

Thanks!

the wings have flaps which can be configured as flaperons.

so you will need 2X 800mm /1000mm servo lead extensions in addition to the usual required servo extensions for a 88" RC aerobatic plane.

the rest is either supplied in the kit as per the 30% airframes.

Depending on how you wish to configure the flaperons you may need to up to 10channel receiver or go serial bus.

1. Aileron rt
2.elevator rt
3. throttle
4. rudder
5.elevator lft
6.aileron left
7. flaperon rt
8.flaperon left
9. opto kill / ibec
10.choke servo if not using manual choke.

Can reduce this back to 8 channels if flaperons are slaved to ailerons permanently.

thus,...power / channel expander might be an additional piece of hardware.

in the late '60s Phil Kraft designed the "Das Ugly Stik".
Today it seems that every maker in Asia is making one.
I guess you could call that progress.

Can anyone tell me if the rudder cables run straight down the fuselage or if they are supposed to cross?

Thanks!

Mounting DLE-35 Engine to Skywolf?

I was mounting my DLE-35-RA to my Skywolf today and found the stock DLE muffler is about 1/2" to 7/16" too thick to allow the engine to bolt up to the standoffs. It looks like the 3 options are:
1) extend the standoffs (seems a bad option because it would change the cowling/prop spacing)
2) cut out part of the firewall to accommodate the muffler, or else
3) go with a 3rd party muffler.

Has anyone else had this problem or have a suggestion?

Thanks!

I would do option 2. My brother had the same problem but on an Hangar 9 Inverza. Easier to modify the firewall.

This doesn't help much: because of the engine being a 55! Mod the Firewall and build it!

I would say the 35 is the best engine for this plane and the 55 is way overkill!
It is a great tow plane: a good broken in 35 will tow great ......2!

I will recommend a light cloth and thinned epoxy! My friend told me he blew the top off his sky wolf...............Oh great!
He was a week late, mine hit the rudder and splinter into several pieces!
I do stress the plane more than most..........! It has hung on so far!
I made a few parts and recovered it!

The wood is free! Shipping for this small amount of wood from China----------34 dollars! I've got the new wood...............I re-built it before I got the wood home!
