Bam she is looking good. You might have yours in the air before I get mine back from John. He has been having a few set backs. Nothing with the build though.

It is coming along nicely. He was just about to start the sheeting and a major storm came through and created a mess. It started to flood out his basement and he had to take care of getting things back in order. I told him to take his time. I can wait for the plane lol. You are right it should be one heck of a plane. Yours looks like it is coming along nicely.

Re: Aerotech 55% extra 260 build

oh for sure bud! Spoke with Kevin and even he said he would probably never use anything else again!
it really is too easy.

Three simple rules:
1. make sure you put enough that it's got a bit of a sheen to it.
2. let it dry properly. wont stick properly otherwise. but you have forever to make the bond, so really no need to rush it!
3. get a clothes iron on it and heat it up!

Easy as 123! 3M should give me comission! LOL!

How much weight difeerence is there between the 30NF as compared to Polyurethane Wood Glue (Gorilla glue) for one wing of this size (or for a 42% wing for that matter).

Re: Aerotech 55% extra 260 build

honestly, i cant say as i have not done poly before.
There are plenty that have, maybe they can chime in.
I do know that the 30-nf loses at least half it's weight as it's water based and it evaporates.
You can really feel the difference from when you apply it to when it's dry.
i treat this stuff like paint. it can be brushed, sprayed or rolled on. i roll it, then wash up with water. have used the same foam roller for all sheeting as it just washes off.

When Bob and I sheeted his wings we used one large and one small bottle for each wing panel, that is about 1 1/2 lbs of GG. The 30NF is approx 40% lighter than the GG. It is also less expensive than GG and MUCH easier to apply and clean up, its a win-win all the way around.

I'm sorry...I got mixed up. So, the 30NF is the contact adhesive? Like doing a formica countertop. Apply to both sides, let dry, and stick (with propper alignment of course).
Thanks in advance

exactly.
some people are scared of contact adhesives as other kinds have delaminated in the heat. 30-nf gets stronger with heat.

Is it a one shot type glue? So there is no moving the sheeting around once both are stuck together?
