Don't see the weight listed, but the price (62,000 yen) is about $690.00 over there. Tower doesn't list it yet, but it will probably be another $75-100.00 higher. Who knows......

Very interesting. This is a "square" engine too, bore and stroke are both 41.2mm.

A drop in cylinder sleeve like a glow engine and with OS quality, this might be better then a cast cylinder that gets machined out.

Nice looking engine. Front carb with velocity stack. Looks like the needles are easy to get to. Throttle and choke might be a little tricky. Looks like they already have the barb fitting for the metering diaphragm vent. Noyce.

Wonder why they have a ground wire on the ignition? Thought that was done through the ignition wire shield, cap and ignition case. Maybe the ignition case is plastic?

Guaranteed, the first person that tries to run it on Amsoil 100-1 will be buying a new engine...Bushing con rod, needs ast LEAST 10% oil like a ST 3000...I GUARANTEE someone will stick the rod to the crank...GUARANTEED

The picture almost looks like it has needle bearings, but I can't tell for certain.

If they went to the trouble of designing their own new carb and ignition I can't believe they neglected the needle bearings. Time will tell of course.

from that photo, it looks like roller bearing to me.

Thats pretty cool. Be nice when we get some info on it that we can read. Will be interesting to see how it performs and keeps up against the other 50cc class motors

who knows what they will do with the price, but the OS 1.60 retail price is 45,150 yen (or $499 accd to Tower) but sells for 31,500 yen ($299 at Tower). The final price of this will be nowhere near $690, or else they won't sell very many!

Looks like a really big, gas version, of their AX series of engines. If it runs as nicely as it looks, should be a great engine with OS quality.

Anyone have any comments on the carb up in a similar position as a glow 2 stroke vs. rear/side induction like DA/3W??

I generally prefer a rotary valve induction system over a reed valve system. That said, the front intake style necessarily means the crankshaft can be weaker than any other style because it is hollow.
