I owned DA50 and ZDZ both and 3W also
Mi personal score is:
1° 3W
2° DA
3° ZDZ
Of coarse ZDZ and DA are lighter than 3W but the last iso more affidable mostly referred to ZDZ.
I lost a model (funtana) because the ZDZ turned off during the flight test.
The engine failed 'cause the carburetor is directly fitted on the engine crankcase and the hot temperature achieved during the run produce the gasoline evaporation over the carburator diaphragme.
I never used ZDZ

almost 8 months now. Still need to run my ZDZ, waiting for servos to finish the model. What's this I hear about a different Walbro carb being put on the 50's?

I have a DA 50 and an Evolution 45 mag. Both seem to pull as hard, but the Evolution has flawless transition. Both run with 22x8 props.

the zdz 50 ng has more power its the best my da 50 came apart twice in the air but they did fix it no charge da has good service

Why are you so bent on a DA and ZDZ? I mean, I have a DA 50r and love it. But when building my latest plane, a QQ yak I needed alittle nose weight, so I got a 3W 55i, OMG the power is way more than my DA, and I hate to admit that cuz well,love my DA. I got to fly the 3W 55i like six or seven times, till I had some kind of issue. While the 3W was great at first I now am at the point of if it dont run why buy it!!!!!!!! I am sure that the 3W will be fixed and I do know of other people that have this same motor and they all tell me thiers is great an d have had zero issues with it. But guess what, the choice for me would still be the DA, its the "american" thing to do,lol!!!! Good luck and have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ZDZ service ? great - but my 50- never needed any but then I never run it over 8500 rpm -

My DA50 was incredible as long as it was right-side-up and above idle.... I had the newest version, FWIW. A buddy of mine has an ooooold DA50 and it runs very well overall. Mine would turn the same prop 500RPM's faster, though. My next 50cc will be a ZDZ.

well i have a zdz 50 ng and is alot of power some da s of some friend need the upgrade and and they have a weird noise.

Fwiw my FPE 3.2 was just as powerful as my DA 50. I ran both in the same plane.
