I am totally spewing ....

2 years ago, I think there were about 10 guys flying in Unlimited at the ASAA Champs in Maryborough ... and me being the only Kiwi. Where are they all now ? I know its a long way from one side to the other, but we have 6 guys making a massive effort to travel to Perth.
This is airfares, accomodation, rental cars, time off work ... a commitment of prob about $3000 per person ... to find two weeks out from the date we fly over, that only 2 ozzies have entered Unlimited ... *** ! Has any one entered Advanced, cause otherwise John Knox and Anthony Hall may as well meet up somewhere here in NZ, and fly it out between them.

Bad form ... bad form.

Its too late for us to pull out now.

Worse off ... there are guys that live in Perth who have not even entered ?

I thought the days of under arm bowling were over you guys ....

(Bones is the only guy who has a real excuse for not going, having just flown at Clover Creek and Tucson)

It's bull**** that you guys are not making an effort to compete at you're own nats!!
If i didn't have family in Perth that I was going to visit I'd rather just pull out now and wast 1000$ worth of airfares!

Very well said guys, I think it is absolutely appalling that people aren't supporting this event. Get behind the event. I could have stayed at home as well, but I'm not. Its a great reason to catch up with everyone.

I can understand, the travel cost is abit more for ozzys than kiwis (we only drive 2 hours and we met the sea) but if there are guys in Perth or that area that aren't entering its pi$$ poor. If its the double flight line thing, why was this not discussed before hand, rather than boycott the event? if this is true. I don't want to start the event on a bad vibe, or sound like its just a bunch of kiwis wanting to "change" our event, but you need to support your own local comps.
We think its great when Richo and the guys, pop over to our rumble comp.

For guys my age its a s#!t load of money to fork out! But usually it well worth it to come over and have a good comp and a good time with all you ozzies! .....apparently not this time.
If I had of known that it was gonna end up with only 2 ozzies in our class I wouldnt of bothered, and could of put the money towards goind to tucson instead!!
But kudos to the people who are supporting the comp and look foward to having a good time with the few that have made the effort!
Hopefully some of you may reconsider, lets try make this a good comp!

Yes I agree that the turn out for Perth is very poor. I would attend if I could but at the age of 19, traveling to America 2 times in a period of 3 months costs a lot of money. As for the 10 or 11 pilots that were at maryborough in 2010, 2 or 3 of them have stopped flying IMAC and moved onto other interests, one has had a child only a few months ago, another I believe was getting married so he had other committments.

If I was in your position I would feel exactly the same. Hope you guys have a good time at Perth and I hope to catch up at next years rumble.

If it wasn't for just having been off work for the past nearly to years with a ruptured disc in my neck I would be going but it has left me right behind the eight ball money wise the only reason I got to go to the nsw state titles was a belated birthday present from my daughter and son in law otherwise I wouldn't have mad that either I wish I could afford it I would be there with bells on I love going to Perth its a beautiful place, but alas I can't so I have to sit here and wish I was there.
